A LOVELY CEREMONY... FOR A MEMORABLE WEDDING
|

A Sand Ceremony is a wonderful way to celebrate the joining together of
your lives, and a meaningful addition to your wedding ceremony. It's also a
wonderful way to include children or other family members in the creation of
your new family. Usually, it's done after your rings have been exchanged.
Here's how the ceremony works:
On a table, close to where the wedding ceremony is being performed, there are
individual vases of sand, each with a different color -- one for each
participant. There is a larger, center vase that is empty. This is the vase that
the participants will pour their sand into.
During the Sand Ceremony (a nice touch is to have some gentle music playing in
the background), each person who participates takes a turn pouring part of
their color of sand into the empty vase. Turns are taken until the individual
vases are empty, and the center vase is full. As the sands blend together, a
beautiful layered design is created, representing the blending together of your
lives. Just as the colors of sand in the center vase can never be separated into
individual colors again, so your lives can never be separated again.
After your ceremony, you have a one-of-a-kind wedding keepsake.
I offer several different vases, as well as a selection of colored sand. Please
see the details and costs below. I bring all supplies, including a small table
and lace covering, and a choice of background music. If you wish to bring your
own supplies, table and music, the wording can be included in your ceremony at
no additional charge.
Above are a couple of examples of how blended sands look together. Of course, each vase will be different!

I recommend that you choose at least one light color and one darker color, in order to be able to have a good contrast in your vase. The first group of colors (left to right) are the neutrals -- Black, White, Beige, Brown, Gray, and Gray/Green. The second group of colors are the soft colors -- Cranberry, Harvest, Coral, Pink, Lavender and Light Blue. The third group of colors are the Bright Colors -- Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Dark Blue and Purple. Choose the colors that express you best!
